"Trash" in British English is much more common as a pejorative metaphor than a direct reference to waste. So "I'll just put the chip wrappers in the trash" wouldn't ring true, but "Hogwarts Exposed is a load of trash" does.

Continental European shoe sizes scale more or less linearly, so consider whatever size you are then imagine ten in comparison to that. I don't think they even make shoes that size for babies.

Neil wasn't called on it, but would almost certainly have hand-waved it by saying that she didn't realise it was actual magic so no harm done, right? Or that hyperempathy doesn't count as magic by some obscure loophole. The Statute of Secrecy, of course, doesn't work that way.

I am not ashamed to admit that I pictured Chantal as a chicken during this exchange.
