So, I've realized that I cannot possibly not go to Rome this summer. What was I thinking when I thought it'd be okay if I didn't take this opportunity to go act in Italy for a month? who knows....

SO, I'm trying to figure it out, logistically.

Know anyone who needs a place to stay for the month of July? My place would be available, furnished, from ( Read more... )

Places to list your apt:
- livejournal (austincommunity and austinfreaks)
- craigslist
- Austin couchsurfing group (if you aren't already on it Leigh can give you the low down)
- the Austin Burn list (you can also ask here for odd jobs)

The couchsurfing group especially is likely to have folks who need short term furnished spaces.

Do you have a paypal account? I'll totally put in $50. You are right, you absolutely can't pass up this opportunity!

Thank you! Those are GREAT suggestions. :)

I really appreciate your offer to pitch in, are you sure that is something you are okay doing? I don't want to put any strain on you at all.

Just put the word out with your paypal info, ask people to pass it around, and I know a lot of people would be willing to chip in to make your trip possible. :)

One other thing we can do is a fundraiser. There are a lot of restaurants around campus that are used to hosting fundraiser events for clubs and things like that. I know Pita Pit does them, and the UT Archery Club always did Taco Cabana nights, where for every receipt we collected we got 10% of the proceeds. Of course, these things work best when you can motivate a ton of people to come on that given night. But with our crowd, that shouldn't be too tricky! You'd probably have to come up with a name for it when you approach the restaurant manager to sign up for the event, like Italian Acting League or something that sounds legit. I don't know for sure how much money you'd bring in, it all depends on which restaurant you go to and how many people come. But it could knock out a few hundred dollars at least.
