Beautiful. I love this and I love how much that song matches them, mostly cause I love that song. ♥

This was very well written and I loved the beginning where he holds her back so Zoe can patch up Simon. I can just picture him with his arms wrapped around her while standing just outside of the infirmary.

Thank you - I love getting into character's heads. With River it is a little too easy at times (got a bit of my own crazy genius thing going on :) ), but that is what I love in a lot of firefly fics, and I am so glad that my attempt worked for you.
