Poor guy. Attacked, barely making it out alive, pulled to safety (but not understanding that), and he finally sees that the mermaid he'd been transfixed by ... if they would have *included* that scene in the movie instead of just the trailer (but I digress) ... is the one that he's just lashed out at in his confusion.
