The "fixed source" is only necessary if you want to compile the software yourself :)

Huh, then I don't understand, because I installed the version from your homepage, and it still won't download the comments. I thought there was something else I had to do to make it work ...

Hmm, it seems to work for everyone else.

Look at your ljarchive settings - one can switch off the comment download, maybe you did that in the past to get the broken version running. In that case, switch on comment download and try again.
