As others have stated, Shyamalan/Paramount have turned this from an Asian themed answer to Harry Potter to a generic European fantasy tale.

Still another year and we shall see what happens when the people interested in film search for the original material.

Harry Potter had increased readership due to the films.

I remember the same thing happened with Jurassic Park, Davinci Code.

DVD series are more accessible in comparison to books. It will be alot easier for them to see the blatant dishonour to the series.

Earth Kingdom: Chinese, Korean, Manchu, Bedouins (Sandbenders), Japanese (Kyoshi Warriors), Nepal (Smellerbee), Amazonian Indians (Foggy Swamp. Yes, I know they speak with US Southern Accents. That's a "country" accent. Every country has their own version of that accent). I think the Cabbage Merchant is Uyghur or Hui.

About the Swamp benders; I read somewhere that they were assumed to be Vietnamese? Doesn't really make that much sense to me, aside from skin color. As always, environment and tools need to be taken into perspective, and I kind of always thought of them as Amazonian myself.
