Well, aside from the usual scapegoating, projection, and herd mentality, it's:

1) Christianity, like, invented marriage or something. And, like, St. Paul was an ass. Or something. That's what my preacher told me.

2) Demographics paranoia. Mussolini had it, Stalin had it, and SoCons have it. If they stop demanding that everyone breed, humanity will obviously go extinct. Oh, teh noes!
