(I meant to post this Wednesday. Mainly of interest to Mac users.)

My LJ Bio has contained a mention of Griffin Technology's RadioShark almost from the beginning. I think the RadioShark has been on Griffin's website for more than two years -- "shipping soon". Yesterday's BoingBoing indicates that people are finally getting their hands on these ( Read more... )

I just noticed in a review that the RadioShark does support Windows XP. Griffin's website mentions this too. (At least, it does now. I don't think it was on there the last time I took a really good look at it.) This makes sense, since the hardware connection is USB. Support for various platforms is just a matter of writing the software, and it would be silly for Griffin to ignore the biggest market. The review mentions differences between the Mac and PC software. List price $70. I haven't shopped around.

I wouldn't be surprised if the hardware comes with software for both (Mac/Windows). (The only Griffin product I have is the iMic (also USB, Mac/Windows). The software includes audio editing -- but it works only when the iMic is physically connected. That's an annoyance when you want to edit recordings later.)
