Spooky ...

Just a couple hours after I wrote about Justine, we lost our senior kitty. She was that "poultry-geist" who had served as my avatar with her outstretched, demanding paw, for, gosh, the past eight years. There she is, up there. Lunging for chicken at  family dinner.

The extraordinary, smart and gutsy Fuzzy Princess Saralinda Droopy-Whiskers, passed ( Read more... )

I am convinced that there is, indeed, a Rainbow Bridge and my kids are waiting for me just as your Miss Droopy-Whiskers will be waiting for you.

I'm truly sorry that she lost her battle but she fought bravely and she certainly knew she was loved.

::hugs:: My sincerest condolences.

Thank you so much, dear heart. She was an amazing girl, runt of the litter who never put on much in the way of poundage but -- don't get between her and something she wants. I'm glad I got those last minutes with her.

Yes, of course there is the Rainbow Bridge.

Deepest sympathy on your loss of Saralinda. I'm glad you were with her through the end. She knows she was loved and treasured all her life.

Thank you so much, Ms Kelpers. It means a lot to me that I was rocking her and singing to her (all our animals have their own special songs; I put new words to old tunes for them) when she passed.

And, as I have told so many others who have lost their furry friends, I know some damn fine cats and dogs who were there to greet her. She will be in their loving paws until we are together again.

Really sorry, Kitty.
My mother's cat, Penny, made it to 19, as did Sheryl's Chloe, so I guess that's as good as it gets.
RIP Saralinda. Our deceased Terror Twins had their special songs as well.

I once told my boss, Lorrie, about the concept of the Rainbow bridge when Nicky was killed. (I used to post on Cat World, but felt out of place with my regular moggies when just about everyone else had breeds.)
She said "Oh, so when you die you go to Cat Heaven?"
I had to laugh in spite of it all.

Thank you so much for your kindness and humor. I have (had, actually) a friend who had had only two cats in her life. One lived to 26, the other lived to 25. Although she was book smart, she could not understand how any cat would die younger that mid-20s unless the owner was neglectful.

All my cats are regular rescues, too. Sara was a gray tabby, Carmelita is a brown tabby, Ebenezer is black, and Felicity is a tortie. The girls for sure are Christian, because Carmelita has a red flame-shaped splotch on her head (Pentecost) and Lissie has a giant cross on her face.

David insists his Molly is a good Catholic girl, and that my Iain is a little heathen.

25 and 26 are unbelievably good innings.

Not sure about the cats, but Clarkie, like all good dogs, is definitely a Christian:

He believes in the laying on of hands.

Fare thee well, Lady Saralinda. Though we mourn your passing, we take comfort in remembering your long life and the joys and amusement you brought to your servants.

Thank you, James, for your, um, milk toast. Yes, our mistress brought us much joy!
