First movie that totally knocked me out was Journey to the Center of the Earth with James Mason and Pat Boone. I first saw the pic because I was sorta hot for Boone (I know, I know! I was young and goofy).

What absolutely stunned me was the cavern with all the crystalline stuff. I had never seen anything so breathtakingly beautiful.

My dad took me to see that when I was a mere slip of a girl.
Didn't see it again until I was 32. It was on TV the same day my idiot ex husband decided to take my dobermann pinsher for a walk, let him off the leash in a field where the train goes through, and poor dog got killed by a train.

Have you heard Pat Boone's CD 'In A Metal Mood - No More Mr Nice Guy.'?
It was a very tasteful album, from 1997. I don't know why he got so much flack from the church over it, but that's the church. Anything that even whiffs of heavy metal and they'll condemn it without even listening to it.

My daughter clued me in to that CD after she sent me an Amy-special cassette mix tape called "Mom Goes Metal." It's on my list of stuff eventually to acquire.
