And then I was at work for 23.5 hours.

So, would you rather coffee to keep going, or a blanket to cuddle up to?

You know, I'm a keep going person by nature, but i'm getting old and now I literally can't keep my eyes open that late if I don't absolutely have to...

Ummmmm, I am pretty sure that's not legal. I mean, not that it's *your* choice to do the illegal thing, but I can't see how it's legal for the company to ask that of an employee.

Do you get to fall over now? Preferably on a soft surface?

It's only illegal if they *make* you do it, which they didn't. my boss, who also happens to be my friend, said she wanted me caught up before I leave, and *I* want to be caught up before I leave

the frustrating/illegal part is that I'm not getting paid for the hours.

yes, slept some after I got home.

You are not on salary, yes? So yeah, that's totally illegal, especially if you're going over 40 hours for the week (seems likely, given that you did *more than half of that* in one day). I get that your boss is your friend, but -- I'd think that would make her *not* want you to spend 23.5 hours at work, even if that was what it took to get caught up. This is part of why overtime pay works, IMO; you don't want to give people much more to do than they can do in the amount of time allowed because if you do so you'll have to pay them extra.

I hope you have a really good trip with *no work at all.*

I could push it I know, and insist on being paid for the time. It's not that they wouldn't. It's more that they have a policy where your time has to ne pre-approved, which is stupid since how often do you really. Know how much overtime you need? Then my own work ethic gets in the way, b/c I feel like if o were on the ball, I would 't be behind, even though I know that's not true rationally.
The con is great so far- more people I actually know(from the intertubes) than Expected, and it's tiny (50 peeps (peep!peep!)) so, nice. It's an hp slash con-- lots of raunch like at yaoi-con. That's very freeing since currently the only person I cam make dirty jokes with in person is my boss, and her idea of the height of bawdiness os "that's what she said" and "are those cake 'balls'?"

Oh jeeze. I hope you're enjoying some well-deserved sleep right now.

(And it should go without saying, but don't worry about that fic I sent you.)

thanks! I slept a little.

I *am* actually, worried about the fic - I feel terrible about not getting it back to you yet - esp. since you've been so patient already waiting for it! right now i've got it planned to work on while I'm at the airport and/or on the plane, which should be more than doable.

Oh, don't worry. It's seriously no trouble for me to get someone else if you're busy. You've got a lot on your plate right now, and I don't want to be adding to your stress. :-)

JFC. You'd better get serious overtime.

Happy vacation?
