trifoliate orange is an evil, evil plant.

For the past week in north Louisiana I've been trying to ID this evil, evil plant. It is a hedge of evergreen thorns making a fractal of owie. It looks like someone took greenbriar and put it under magnifying glass. It is mostly nude right now but some of them had little oval leaves and small, rough, bumpy, orange fruits ( Read more... )

and _that_ is what they use to line the walkways at Oklahoma State University. Nice little close grown hedges You do _not_ deviate from the paths. Hubby keeps saying he wants it for our yard.

if it wasn't invasive, totally.

i can't even convey how horrid this thing is in person. it's like seeing elephants and lions in pictures, and yeah, they are big and strong... and then you go to a zoo where you can get up close and go holy fuck! that thing is huge and seething in muscles!!!!! aaah!!! gonna die!!!
except, you know, a lot of 4" long thorns.
