Damn, the bodies aren't even cold yet people!

Over the years, TV's best-known movie review show has gone from hosts Siskel and Ebert to Ebert and Roeper to Roeper and guest critics - and now it's Lyons and Mankiewicz.
They barely got to announce they were leaving the show before these folks already had new people (I've never heard of) already lined ( Read more... )

Who knows what was going on, but Sunday Roeper announced they couldn't reach an agreement and his contract was up. Then Monday Ebert said he was not going to be involved with the show and he and the Siskel widow were going to retain rights to the Thumbs Up trademark and go their separate way.

These people probably wanted to change the format to something more sleazy than the same old format of two old dudes in a theater and made it unagreeable for Ebert and Roeper. No one's talking, though.

It's not like I watch it all that much anymore, although I did see it this Sunday. Normally, here, it's on in the afternoon on Saturday and at 12:30 am Sunday night/Monday Morning so it's not really a must see if it even really was even with Siskel and Ebert because, for the most part, they all love the art house/foreign language stuff and trash almost anything that is remotely popular. Was amazed they actually liked the new Batman movie.

In my usual mood, I guess I hope the new show flops with...whoever the hell those critics are...always like it when corporate thinks they are smarter than everyone and they go to the Epic Fail Zone....
