not underfed, just underfoodied

I love cooking. Probably the only person who can fully appreciate this is hitode, who I think to random delicious-looking recipes I find online on a semi-regular basis. And then she curses me. And links me back to the cookie recipes on 101 Cookbooks, aka gmail's very favorite foodie blog ever.

Here's the thing though: I'm not a foodie. I also don't know ( Read more... )

if i had a million dollars, living with(out) roomies, cookery, i eat cute things :e

Yeah... the only thing I legitimately feel I could cut right now is lj. And :/ With you on the Kitchen Aid though, I would possibly bake more than boxed breads if I had an actual mixer.

Man, PIE is one of the things I would really like to make but just cannot justify for myself. Key lime would be heavenly right now. I don't even know why, it just would.

When you say "interesting ingredients" what do you mean exactly? What's "normal"?

Also, what kind of stuff do you like?

Hmmm.... "normal" for me means staples that I can use over and over in a variety of dishes. So for example I always buy white rice because it's okay for anything, whereas Jasmine rice would be great for a few things but not so hot for most.

And I eat almost everything XD; I didn't used to like ground meat (it's a textural problem) but I've learned to get over that because... cheap wins >:

Orange Soy Chicken. It's tasty good.

You can make Baguettes? (I haven't tried this recipe yet but it looks good)

Dunno if those are interesting though. I just do "mmm" rather than "oooh"

That does sound good, and I've thought so before. Citrus is definitely a way to make meat different ♥

... bread intimidates me :o

The good thing about bread is that the ingredients are cheap so if you fuck it up you're not out much money.

I buy canned food for convenience, mostly soups or veggies. However I really like to buy fresh meats and frozen veggies on sale to stuff in my freezer. I have a dishwasher but considering it's way too big for my needs and a waste of energy, I end up washing the dishes anyway. lulz ( ... )

I dunno, I have a fear of frozen meats that dates back to me using come chicken I WAS SURE I HAD FROZEN IN TIME and... no :(

Ooh, I think someone on my flist made something like those salmon cakes lately and they looked very nice XD I'll have to try those. Wonder if I could sub bread crumbs for saltines, I'm more likely to have those around but... texturally different.

(and I shamelessly make cream chipped beef on toast sometimes. so XD)
