Just finished the last section and safkhoeihq;wihfjka;sthhf I can't even begin to describe how amazing it's been, following this story over the last few days. Thank you so much for sharing this.
As part of the "yes please more please" audience, thank you for all the blood, sweat and tears.
Creation is HARD. Not thinking up stuff, but gritting your teeth and giving the stuff form and flow and elegance and polish. It's tricky enough singing someone else's music (which is my Creative Thing) - pulling the words out of your own head and then doing the form-and-flow-and-elegance-and-polish routine must make you doubt your own sanity at times.
But you have created something wonderful and real; and that faint breeze you can feel is me waving my little pennant like crazy and making "woo!" noises all the way over here in Australia.
I think you get to rest on your laurels for at least a couple of weeks, yes?

I don't know about "a couple of weeks" -- the next bit is already nibbling on my brain. *G*
Thank you -- I'm really glad you liked this. And yeah, the polishing was the worst part. There were a few places where I was convinced that I should just throw it out and start over, and first draft -> second draft did throw out a lot of it... (Although I'm really amazed by how much I was able to save.)
And I'm so glad the serial release worked for you. I hesitated over doing that right up until the end, but I was so glad I did, because this 'verse is all about the tension ...

oh god YES, I love serials.
It wasn't so much about the tension (although I found myself holding my breath a couple times and *not noticing* until I couldn't - well - breathe) but about PROCESSING what happened in each part; if you just read it straight through it would be almost too rich for one's mental digestion.
And we only had to wait a day between installments, nothing too onerous about that. :)
Looking forward to the next installment in Broken Wings, but, seriously, you should do some looking at pretty flowers, knitting, chatting to your Best Beloved and maybe get in some quality staring at a wall. We'll all be here when you get back.
