Oh JD, what a game you're playing. This is amazing. The line he's having to walk where he's JD himself, JD being disaffected clone, JD who is Jack O'Neill and all the other faces he's wearing--if he doesn't come out of this with MPD it'll be a miracle. And it's scary how normal the man with a thousand faces is is getting for him, I fear. Still loving JD and his amoral hacker team, esp. Virta though I'm trying not to get too attached (and hope JD isn't) because I can see bad things coming down the line for that kid.
Oh, this is gonna be really, really painful, isn't it? I'm already cringing as I turn the page, and we're not even to the halfway point yet. You've completely sucked me into the story and I can't wait to read the rest of it.
I didn't see anything highlighted and a mouseover did not produce a translation, but I'm fluent in Russian so the Polish was... I imagine sort of like Italian for someone who only speaks English? Or something? I understood 80% of it with that "ugh why can't you people just spell that so human beings can understand?!" feeling. Language geekery aside, that whole section? *whimper* EEEEEK. I'm not even sure who I should be feeling sorry for, JD or Jack O'Neil or both.
Loved the casual murder scene, loved the Virta thing even though I know there's no way that's gonna end without a bang, one way or another, and I'm still enjoying the psychological fragmentation of JD's spy games very much.
Maaan, I didn't even bother pretending I was going to wait for this to be posted in full, and now I'm totally kicking myself, as I knew I would, because god damn I want the next now and I know it'll only get worse after tomorrow.
If your browser doesn't respect the color vs. bgcolor trick I used to highlight the Polish, just hold your mouse over it anyway. It's done in an tag with a "title" attribute, so a mouseover should pop up the translation. :)
Huh. That's so incredibly weird; I checked it in everything I could get my hands on.
Anyway, it's:
-- You're leaving in the morning. -- Yes. I have ... things I need to do. -- You should leave now. Don't come back. It's dangerous. It... -- What do you want to say to me? -- I'm sorry. I'm sorry. They came to me ... a couple of months ago, they came and they were asking me ... about you, about us ... Leave now. It's not safe here. They'll come, soon. They told me to keep you here. Leave now and don't come back, or they'll catch you. I'm sorry. I tried to tell them as little as I could.
