Oh, there's plot here, all right! I'm totally loving Skip and Spence -- they'll be fabulous eyes on the inside. Reynolds! And JD might even convince Sam to move back to the SGC.
I'm hoping to see a little hanging out with Uncle Al. And a houseful of kids over the summer. Heh!
Family swaps kids around for the summers, once school's out; the running joke is that everyone's looking for a set they like better than the one they have, while the reality is that everybody in the family knows that it's better if children have ties spread wide, in case anything (God forbid) should happen.
Skipper and Spence are fabulous. (I stole them from ivorygates.) And can't you just imagine Reynolds staring at young Captain Mitchell (takes anyone who's not Family a few weeks to work out which one's which; Skipper and Spence are very hurt by this, because they both insist that the other one's the ugly one) and thinking: where the hell did this kid run into Jack O'Neill? And why didn't Jack just call me?
No houseful of kids this summer, for reasons that will become apparent in the next installment, but five, ten years down the line, well, the problem children -- the ones that woulda been arrested if the cop answering the call hadn't eaten at the Mitchell table often enough to know that turning the kid back over to Momma with a description of what they were up to will be punishment enough -- get sent down to Uncle Cam and Uncle JD for the summer. And the problem Gets Fixed. Fast.
(And yeah. So many of the realities behind life-as-a-Mitchell hurt.)
And thank you, babe. I am glad you're enjoying this. :)
Oh god, did O'Neill give JD Charlie's college fund?
Yeah. Broke my fucking heart when he informed me of that. O'Neill was a wee bit less detached than he pretended to be. And he knew that JD would do just fine for himself with a little bit of a nest egg -- after all, he would have...
Why is Atlantis desperate?
Just finished that whole epic battle against the Wraith, and are still cleaning up, and, well. Let's just say that Daniel has convinced Weir that they need to understand more about the Ancients if they're going to be living in the Ancients' city ...

I'm starting to worry about them with the mention of Ba'al. Should I be worried?
