While I was at the Walmart a few days ago, standing at the customer service desk, waiting almost patiently for someone to come service me, I kept looking around for that employee, and also noticing people as they walked around and behind me. I saw two fellows coming in from the out door - one bigger taller younger man and one smaller thinner older ( Read more... )

OHMG... Hun, we are a pair made in heavens, for sure. I made something similar 15 days ago or so. And Ofc I didn't tell to anyone. I was in a Minimarket, waiting for buying the bread, and I spotted an old shaking lady, who went very hopely to check if her money came to her bank account. Nopes. She had only... something like 3 USD in her account, and she had to pay 50 cents for gets the cash out. She spent the half for her cellphone prepayment (indeed I had to act nosey and tell to the employee that it was ok recharge that low amount). She bought some bread, and the remainings were some loose coins. I felt a deep pain into my chest. I called her apart, and took something close to 3 USD from my thin wallet and told to her "You can use this, meanwhile your money show up".

And yes, we can be them, who knows, some day. No one knows us IRL here. We aren't trying to shine, only trying to make the people to remember those sweet times, when people cared about others =)

Very nice! I'd have done the same probably, if I had overheard or was aware of what was going on. I've done similar before, but mostly if someone was short on cash. I'd help them with some coins or a dollar or two. There was one time I helped with more, seeing a young person with groceries in line front of me, seeing their crestfallen look when their card was declined. They didn't have much. The total was something like $6.50 or so for those few items. They began to say something about "take that item off" and I fished money of my pocket and handed it to the cashier. "I got this. No worries."

The young person began to refuse and I just said, "Don't sweat it. If you see me here again, you can repay me, or if you see someone in the same situation, just help them out."

It is probably just how I was raised, or how I grew up by watching heartwarming television series. Who knows.

;P
