Work's moving along well... I'm feeling pretty confident in my role now, and I'm getting the benefit of confidence from my superiors, as well.  This whole thing has given me a boost in momentum re: my long-term project, the website, which we're now more fully committed to completing.  In the meantime, I took a day and worked on a long-term holding Read more... )

I'm glad Dom pointed that out to you. Michael Moore even flipped out on Roger Ebert once for a few mildly 'I didn't know that. This is interesting in light of some of the Roger Ebert stuff I've seen lately. I need to see the Moore interview to get a good feel for what went on, but Ebert's personality, in itself, doesn't seem warm and fuzzy enough to warrant his being protected...

Like Ebert's book "I Hated, Hated, HATED This Movie"

And his response to Clive Barker, which I disagree with, but that's beside the point... the problem is more that Ebert regresses into bad forum-posting behavior later on in his discussion: "Spoken with the maturity of an honest and articulate 4-year old", he says. Very mature, Rog.

Like I said, though, I don't know enough Ebert to condemn him, and I might very well agree with his movie reviews. It's just worth pointing out... however counterproductive it might be, Moore's throwing a tantrum at Ebert isn't exactly like taking pot-shots at a teddy bear. The man should know how to handle himself under rhetorical pressure.
