I'M GOING TO JAPAN!
(To visit my long-distance boyfriend; he just came to US!)
I just bought my ticket yesterday (click 'ticket' if you want to see my itinerary)!

As soon as I clicked 'purchase' my heart wouldn't stop pounding... I made such a big decision, and the ticket was SO expensive!! It felt like the airline was taking away my first born

It wasn't that long ago that a one way ticket to Japan cost around NZ$300 - about a month after the Tsunami. Now it's about 3-4x that amount.

I've been making plans to go to Japan for years, took Japanese night classes and bought lots of travel books/brochures etc. But, I still haven't go around to it. Happy that you managed to beat me to it XD Will have to wave in your direction in December then, across the yellow sea?

One of my 'must go's' is going to an outdoor onsen with monkeys and snow XD

December is also a fantastic time for getting anime goods because most of them are scheduled for release at that time. The shoppaholic in me is jealous :3

Yeah!! I remember it being around $1,300 (roundtrip) so I was so surprised when it shot up to around $1,700 USD which is what I paid for my ticket... I assume your prices are one way, or I will be crying ;-;

xD SNOW MONKEYS!! My Japanese professors showed us a picture of such an onsen... One of the most random things she's ever showed us, however... Nothing could top when she gave us a lecture on Japanese 'love hotel'... There's apparently a 'jukebox' that plays traffic noises or chatter, so the guy can call phone and say "honey, I'm stuck in traffic" or "honey, I'm stuck in a meeting, I'll coming home late"... I was like WHAT??? They're... So... Prepared... But... So... Wrong xD

I remember going to 'Japan day' in my city, which was held a few days after the earthquake. They gave away a round trip ticket to a lucky individual.

Don't worry about getting me anything, my list is extremely long and I probably have them all pre-ordered XD. Must go make my Winter comiket shopping list soon.
