Somewhat about books that are dogs

Caesar the Wonder Dog got his claws clipped. I mean, was subjected to the dreadful trauma of claw-clipping. I took him to a tiny dog-grooming business down by the Dairy Queen (I hadn't been there before) and it was great (except maybe from Caesar's viewpoint) - I picked him up and handed him to one of the girls who does the grooming, and she turned ( Read more... )

I agree about the books. I bought one of the new books and found I couldn't read it. The magic has gone and the story descends into the realms of third rate fanfic. I can effortlessly reread the originals. In fact they are quite dog-eared, no pun intended.

And what is it with the claws? I got the most enormous hiss out of my very social little cat when I snagged him to trim his claws and put on claw caps. He is ripping my rugs and he must get out of the habit as I wish to replace them. He has multiple scratch pads, too, which are ignored. Sigh.
