1. In embarrassing news from my home town, the Calgary Catholic School Board, apparently because of calls from concerned parents, has decided to remove Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass from school libraries pending a review. I was very disappointed when I sat down to blog about "Censor the Book" and discovered that the address returns a 404 error. But even without that angle, it's still pretty entertaining to trash the site ;^).

What I didn't mention is that I honed my plagiarism-detection skills as a copy editor for scholarly journals ...

This one was so poorly done that I think that even someone without experience in such things could have seen it.

I don't get a 404, I get a directory... so I'm betting by outing old JOsh or James or whatever his name is, he realized the scam was exposed and wasn't working in his favor anymore. :)

They just realized that they goofed, and their little publicity stunt didn't work. ;) So they're scrambling to do damage control.

Apparently, they realized the error of their ways. DAMN I wish I'd gotten a screenshot of that original site.

As it is, I need to get screenshots of all the current ones before they "redesign"
