I agree! N has known so many families with 2 moms through daycare that I think the concept to him is quite normal; he's even said it might be NICE to have two moms (in the context of getting me all to himself post little sister). I really like the fact that my kids won'tremember a time in Canada that this wasn't legal, and by the time they are adults I imagine most people his age won't even notice.
I've never even had to explain the concept to him in fact. He's never questioned the fact that some families just have two moms. The only awkward moment we had was after he realized ths it takes a mom and a dad to have kids; he then asked how his friend in particular was born, but was satisfied with a very brief "oh mama K had them!"
By the time SP and N and little sister have kids, assuming they do, I hope marriage equality will be so normal that they'll have to learn about how things used to be from their history textbooks.
