An excerpt:

“Then, committed to my task, I still had to stop to look up Balthazar. Remember him? I didn’t. But apparently, he’s an angel who wanted to kill Sam and Dean at some point last season. But then, who doesn’t these days; the world is out ( Read more... )

Soulless Sam is major hot, I think I like him being so in control or something. It is hard to describe like you said- it just is. :)

It is hard to describe! I tried to pin it down, but a Soulless Sam just is as hot as burning, if not hotter. I'll miss him!

Balthazar actually appeared this season in episode three, The Third Man, and was not actually intent on killing Sam and Dean.

Well, doesn't he say in Appointment in Samarra, why on earth would you call an angel who is intent on killing you? I think I recall that he wants to kill them, especially Sam.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure if it helps with this issue because it doesn't mention whether or not Balthazar wants to kill Sam and Dean in either episode.

I don't recall what he said in the other ep, so you are probably right there, however, in Appointment in Samarra, when Sam summons Balthazar, Balthazar says, "Well, here's one for the list of dumbest things ever: summon the angel who wants to kill you."

What he says indicates that Balthazar wants to kill Sam now.

He also says the line like he's surprised that Sam would summon him, because he (Balthazar) thinks the fact that Balthazar wants to kill Sam is something Sam should already know, like it's a common fact. Thusly, I think that Balthazar wants to kill Sam.
