So, on November 24 of this year, I unplugged my cable. And how’s it going, you ask ( Read more... )

Well, because I am selfish and weak, I'd vote for you writing more Supernatural reviews. Or fanfic. Or both.

If I was being noble and supportive, I'd say, "Get on with that novel, woman, or it'll never be published."

But seriously, self-discipline is the hardest thing of all. At least, it is for this writer. Which is why I'm reading LJs and not starting work on Draft No. Five of That Bloody Epic. Getting rid of the TV was a good move, and if you stick at it, you'll soon hit a routine. Honest.

You are swell, you know that? And I like the fact that you're honest about what you want, because if it were me, yeah, I'd be saying the same thing. Screw the novel, where's my fanfic!!!! : D

I keep thinking that a schedule that involved one day lj (screwing around), another day fanfic, another day novel writing, another day fanfic writing, and then another day reviews? Would that work? Or would I be dead inside of a month.

How do you handle the balance, then?

I think your plan might work - it's all about finding the balance that suits your writing/thinking style best ( ... )

No it doesn't help me because now I'm envying you having all that free time! And a DinL...what's that, then? Sound super, doing all the cooking and stuff. Letting you write like that. I've got a regular job, so that cuts into my day something awful.

3,500 words is actually a lot. 2,000 a day is a lot, so my hat's off to you for productivity and discipline! I'm going to take your advice and see if I can work a schedule, because I'm not wanting to let anything fall off my plate at the moment.

(And thank you for sharing your lovely schedule with me!)

I would die without my cable. Seriously. I would fall down and die. No, I wouldn't even stand up in the morning. I would die in my bed.

Don't do that, don't die. How else would I get my Germany fix? : D

You actually wouldn't die. Creative things and life and stuff like that would step forth and fill the void.

Mmm. I'm drinking a beer right now. LOL! Kidding! Actually I'm drinking tea.

I think my tv is like an old husband. I don't really love him anymore but I'm used to him. And he helps me sleep. Haha... that sounds terrible!

But if I'd cut my cable something awful would happen. I couldn't watch soccer anymore. O.O That would be bad.

BTW, I ate many Christmas cookies for you. Urps. I also ate sugared almonds(?), no idea what's that in English, too. So if your weight goes up you know why. :)

I'm just in the midst of giving away a tv that I've had for 10 years, that was 10 years old when I got it as a handmedown. It worked fine. I actually VIDDED on the thing and there was only one set of jacks, which had 1 video and a L audio and a R audio. Back in the day when people vidded with VCRs. So I think I know what you mean about old TVs and husbands. I kind of want to keep it around for sentimental reasons!

Um, we call "sugared almonds"...Sugared Almonds! Heeeeeeeee! Thanks for eating some cookies for me. I actually have some McEvvetees Digestive Bisquits in the house, but those, you know, are not like Oreos.

Thank goodness you're not drinking light beer. I'd have to disown you. And in a country full of so many fine REAL beers!!!

hehe, I was wondering how long it would take for you to realize that you don't have to fit your life around a tv schedule anymore. :) It took me a month or so to get used to it. :)

I'm really hoping with your extra free time that you'd write more Sparta verse stories. :) But no pressure or anything.

Yeah...no pressure, no pressure. : D

I'm trying to take some time to determine just how that extra non tv watching time should be spent. I DO have laundry to do, after all. (heh heh) Or that sock drawer needs organizing.

Still in the thrall of the damn thing. Sat down and watched Ghosthunters last night. It was about the Myrtles Plantation, after all, but still!

Completely off the subject, and you might have already seen this - but I can't make up my mind if it would be Dean's worst nightmare, or his best fantasy. Okay, it isn't a '67 Impala, but...

It's still pretty cool! Thanks for the link. : D

I'm not sure what they were trying to prove or disprove, but what I love is that the Impala (yeah!) dissapeared on them, and then, at the end of it all, was able to take the torque from the rockets.

Indeed they are!

I love how everyone is calling the car Baby. I just read that in a fanfic the other day, and I thought how appropriate!
