More books, more books!

Ooooo I might have to see if I can get to Borders sometime this weekend, before my parents get here to move me back home... which I will have another journal entry about. "The Vampire Who Loved Me" by Teresa Medeiros is supposed to be out today. (Yes, I read cheesy romance novels. So sue me.) And I know there was something else I was waiting on ( Read more... )

I might be here for part of it. But they're supposed to head out here Wed. night/ Thursday. I'd guess I'd be back on my way on Saturday. There might be the potential for Friday night dinner but probably not. ::sniff::

... so you read FushiYu as well? Interesting...

Let's hear all the gory details: Your favourite character? Your favourite couple? Your favourite scene?

I have to admit having stopped reading at about volume seventeen, because somehow I lost my gusto for it. I found that the story was getting less realistic and the pace got too fast for my taste.

Or maybe I'd got fed up with Yuu Watase in general. I started reading 'Ayashi No Ceres' and ended up throwing the newest volume against my wall as the heroine was seriously grating on my nerves.

I also have to admit that I never read a Yuu Watase story in which I supported the main pairing. Woops.

Yep! I finished the original, and now I'm into the sequel set-- the Genbu arc. Honestly, I prefer the Genbu story over the original. Have you read any of this new set? There are 4 volumes out already, and I think the 5th is due out in English soon (it's already out in Japanese.) And the story is finally picking back up again after being on hiatus for a year! (I seem to tend to read things that for some reason have been on hiatus for years (Yami no Matsuei, Under the Glass Moon, to name a couple) or go on a break when I start to get into them (DNAngel, FY: Genbu Kaiden, to name a couple there lol)) That or I get into really long series and then end up spending a bunch of money because of it ( ... )

Nah, as I just said, I stopped reading FushiYu and I think I did it for good. I heard that Watase-sensei issued a new prequel, though.

That's why I can only talk about the 'original'. My favourite character was Ryuuen Cho (Nuriko) and I also had a soft spot for Tasuki and Hotohori. I particularly liked pairing up Nuriko with Miaka and hated every possible pairing with Hotohori and any female character because I wanted him for myself because none of the characters seemed to fit.

I'd love reading or even writing fanfiction involving Nuriko as well. He's a tragic figure without being angsty; good fanfiction material.

Your talking about series on hiatus reminds of my poor sister's problems. She follows the series 'Blade of the Immortal' and has been waiting for the next volume for more than a year. That's why I decided to pick my new series very carefully and to wait until they're finished before buying the lot on ebay. It worked with 'Kenshin' and will probably work with 'Yuugiou' or 'FMA', my possible new acquisitions.

Yeah-- the Genbu set is the prequel, which I think I mentioned is better than the original ( ... )
