Quilt & Craft Fair

Is anyone planning on going to the quilt and craft fair at Darling harbour over the weekend? Or anyone who has been before? I'm thinking of going but not sure whether it will be worth it or not :)

body mods, politics, animal welfare

it's worth it if you plan to spend some money. i always go for the yarn, although it's also a quilter's dream. there are heaps of good bargains, but you have to be prepared to shove and dig, and if you don't buy quite a lot than it probably isn't worth the admission. if you're looking for beads, i would pass. there are a lot, but their a bit gougey with their prices.

Hmm, I won't have a huge amount of money to spend, prob $50 at the very very most. I've put myself on a yarn ban (I have enough to last me about a year!) and I'm not interested in beads, the quilting stuff is the main draw.

well i can't attest to the quality of the quilt stuff, since i don't quilt, but there is usually more quilt stuff than anything else, and it seems nice to my untrained eye.

I say it's worth it but like mentioned above only if you've got the money to spend lots. Entry alone is $16 and it's really easy to get carried away with the stuff you can buy. I went last year and it didn't really tickle my fancy... there were so many new hobbies that I could've taken up but there's no way that I could fit more in after beading and lampworking, thus I've given this years show a miss.

I was trying to find your email to see if you were going and wanted to meet up!

It looks like I probably won't be going now, money for the weekend is tighter than planned thanks to Dan's job not reimbursing him, so I feel kind of guilty going out and spending money on fabric when it's not exactly essential :/

I never knew quilts were all about the animal welfare, body mods and politics!

Even though David is the source of all things wrong with this world, only mods can add and change tags lol.
