Do TAFE's and what-not do cheap hairdressing here, or do all the students go practice in the hair salons I've visited?

I'd imagine it's like all TAFEs... you actually go to the TAFE to get something done.

(the second part was a joke referring to the crappy hairdressers around here)

Yes. At Brookvale TAFE they have a hairdressing school and the public can put their name down to have it done by students... it'll usually cost about five bucks.

Yes, you usually have to go to the TAFE. It's either free or very cheap, sometimes it might be okay, a lot of the time you get what you pay for.
(I know, but it seemed like a serious question for the most part.)
