The Blockbuster I joined does not let you hire out full box sets.
I wanted to rent Seinfeld season 5 but they only rent out one cover at a time. Then when I rented John Saffran Vs God I got the whole season. I think basically what fits in one DVD case is what they allow.
They do 6 weeklys for $10 (from what I can remember).

Argh, that sucks about Blockbuster doing the same as Civic! :(
Probably again to do with making more money rather than anything else.

Yeah, they're exactly the same, both those stores. Not much use joining then...

Thankyou Didz, see you can be helpful when you try!

Actually they could still make a lot of money if they didn't separate all the dvds in a box set. After all, their most popular overnight hires are $7-$11 depending on whether it's a weekday or weekend. I'm not a tightass, just somebody who doesn't like to be ripped off. If it's a box set, it's a box set. Individual dvds are different.

Well these box sets are usually 3 days or weekly, quite a bit of time to view them.

Nah, I meant they'd already be getting a lot of money from their usual overnight releases like 'Spiderman 3' or whatever's out at the moment.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be one. None at all. Oh well, sticking with Civic video it is! :(

Look for shop-a-dockets with uber cheap new releases ($3 each, 3 for $10, etc). Blockbuster have 1, 3 and 7 day new releases, depending on how long they've been out. I got Thank God You're Here Season 1 set for <$15. :)

Blockbusters in summer hill suck balls
they don't high out box sets even though their advertising indicates they do
they have ridiculous late fees, i could have bought 2 box sets with what i owed for 2 days late of 2 weekly dvds

you're better off saving for a bit and buying them from jb hi fi
or downloading stuff

points is normally 100, photo id, credit card and 2 recent bills with your address and addressed to the house you live in

1. Blockbuster has 5 weeklies for $9.95 Mon-Sun
2. For Blockbuster you need a driver's license. You don't need to put down a deposit.
3. Blockbuster splits the discs up. I don't think you can find a video store anywhere in Sydney that would let you borrow an entire boxset.
