Moving Interstate

I'm looking to move a small amount of house furniture (bed, etc) and an upright piano from Brisbane to Sydney. What's the best/cheapest way to get that done? Will it require two different moving services (regular and piano movers), or is there some way of combining it?

not Allied Pickfords, based on our experience. unless you have really expensive/sturdy furniture it would be cheaper and easier to sell it and just buy fresh stuff from ikea. that said, we had too much crap and we insured it.

I'd get the piano moved separately, unless you don't value it very much. Mum hired a removal company that 'specialised' in pianos when she moved to Newcastle and when they got there they tilted the piano on it's side to lift it. Ouch :(

Also with piano movers tuning at the new place should be included in the cost.

instead of a mover, look up "taxi truck"

There are a bunch of companies that work as "taxi trucks" and we used one to move in our fridge, couches, bed, washing machine and the whole thing only cost us $150
