Totally sick of Cruise at this point. Was there really controversy over a woman playing this role? Wow. I thought everyone was used to kickass action heroines by now.

I love women in men's clothes but only when they're women dressing in the clothes. I've always had a dislike for actual male impersonation by women. If she has fake stubble, I'm throwing up, lol

Might wait for the dvd on this one, I think.

The media always makes a big deal over females playing roles that were traditionally male-centric. I guess it goes back to our puritanical roots, and our need for some kind of controversy. I remember all the hoopla over Sigourney Weaver getting the role in Alien. Ripley was "supposed" to be a male role, but the director fought to have Weaver do it and it worked. (coincidentally, I found Weaver to be hot in that role too; hmm... do I have a lech for action heroines???) :P

As for impersonators, I kinda love 'em. I've been to several drag shows and the ones that are really good are extremely hard to tell that they aren't biologically female. As for the drag kings, I haven't seen too many of them. I dated a girl once who could dress/pass for male. She was very cute in her suits. Jolie, however, couldn't in this role. It didn't work for me. She was much cuter as the butch in Foxfire, but even then, she was still pretty femme.
