Jacob nudges the sleeping man with his foot. "Get up."
When the man doesn't stir, Jacob kicks him hard, smiling at the yelp of pain and surprise the action elicits.
"Sorry, Master," the man gasps, looking up at Jacob. "I didn't mean to fall asleep."
"You never seem to," Jacob sneers down at him. Having a companion had been an experiment, but Jacob had chosen badly and now he was saddled with a lazy, incompetent piece of filth who constantly disappointed him. "I'm not happy."
"Please, forgive me," the man begged, lowering his head.
Jacob's eyes flashed. "Not this time."
