Thank you! And heh, Okita was actually not sure about placing Yamamoto in the "innocents" category - he talks like an innocent, to some extent, but he does have the 'fighter' vibe very strongly. I think Yama's current category in Okita's mind goes something like "baby warrior."
And I look forward to seeing your thoughts on Yamamoto..!
*nod* Yes, Naoto's very definitely part of the 'ogre like me' category to Okita - it's surprising how many women are on that list of warriors he gets along well with, actually. I think female fighters tend to be a bit classier, and Okita's not fond of the dumb macho sort in the least.
And I have to say that Yukina being afraid of him is going to be one of the main reasons he's going to be hiding out in the lean-to - but if she doesn't reject him for it, he'll probably be a lot better off in the long run. ^^ (And what is it with Yukina and brother-figures who are bloodthirsty murderers? Hiei, Kou, Souji...)
Wut, so Okita wouldn't be BFF with He-Man and The Incredible Hulk? XD I won't deny the classy comment, since Naoto's not about to go around hacking people up just for the joy of it. She just likes a good fight every now and then to keep her skills from getting too rusty or predictable.
Naaawww, she'll guilt about it for a bit and then go running off to find him. But she wouldn't reject him. In a sense, I think she'd be relieved that she finally got to see that aspect of him, so he doesn't need to hide it from her anymore. (I really don't know. I think Hiei just started the trend. XD Bloodthirsty murderers need someone to calm 'em down?)
Well, that depends on whether they were uncouth about it. XD (I recall the Hulk not being all that bad when he wasn't in green rage monster form~) And heh, Okita doesn't think of them as 'classy' in the high tea at the Ritz sense, more in the 'respecting other people's autonomy, not always violent/competitive/boorish' sense.
Heeh. I'm glad to know that there's at least a little bit of margin there, because it lessens the likelihood that Okita'll be a complete emotional wreck at her when she DOES show up to yell at him. (There'll be a little while in there when he's just going to be not even able to fake smiles at people, and I don't think he'd want to have any difficult conversations during that time.) - Yukina picks good protective big brother murderers, though~!
Kia and I giggle at your direct addressing of our post-spamming ways. >>;
This essay really boggled me. It makes sense, but... Okita's stupid sometimes goes beyond my comprehension. (Or maybe that's Wolfram talking right there, which would make sense, since he usually has to say "you're stupid" a couple times before his brain starts comprehending the horrendous stupidness enough to tear it apart logically.)
...Tres stupid, Okita. XD But we love you anyway~ ♥
125 comments per post make me feel loved, really! But they also make me feel like there definitely need to be more posts to spread these comments among. XD
Well, I do have to admit that Okita's sometimes really dumb. Repeatedly. Sometimes with added headdesking. Uh, at least he's cute?
It's kind of a noble stupidity, really, like Vash or Tsuzuki. Way too much responsibility, criticism, and ANGST put on themselves. It makes me think of a fanfic where Watari is lecturing Tsuzuki: "[Y]ou're a self-sacrificing idiot. {T]here's a point where quiet exsitential contemplation turns into wallowing and you took that off-ramp a few exits back."

...ahaha, yeeeeah. Though Okita's way, way less messed up than Tsuzuki. He actually LIKES being alive, thanks. (His angst more comes from the "doomed to die very shortly" bit, in canon, rather than the "deserves to die," which is more the way Tsuzuki approaches it.) I maintain that Okita doesn't wallow, too! And he's really happy when he's smiling most of the time, even if it maybe isn't as happy as the smile seems to indicate. His powers of denial are immense and amazing.
(Sounds like! Which archive site might it be on, do you know~?)
