K/S 2009 Advent Art

Dec 15, 2009 09:01

My contribution to the 2009 K/S Advent Calender. ksadvent2009

I'd love to be articulate about this piece right now, but I've been awake for 21 hours with all my love and focus having been on THIS.

So, I'm going to bed.

Hope everyone enjoys the art :)

Oh, beautiful! I love Kirk's expression. Who's the one burning there? I also love the boarder. It looks very... Vulcan-y? Like, the symbols look like something you'd expect to see in Vulcan artwork.

Thank you very much, I'm glad the Vulcany-ness of the window was successful . . .I was trying to go something along the lines of art nouveau meets Vulcan architecture :)

Autumn being taken by Winter ;)

The large red and green glass circles in the upper corners are Germanic symbols of fall/winter as well.

Dude! Your art is just CRAMMED FULL of so much detail!

The fox! the mushrooms! The ivy! The leaves! The jewlery on his antlers! HIS FUCKIN' ANTLERS!

Not to mention the whole cool stained glass motif of the border. Very, very cool! I would love to watch you work one day!

Thank you very much :)

I love that you saw the energy of a meld coming through in the piece. It was unintentional, but I have been reading through a very awesome K/S novel series (Sharing the Sunlight by Jenna Sinclair Here ) where their melds are described in loving, energetic detail.
