So, this being the 21st century, and me having a book coming out, and we all being on the internet, I naturally set up Google Alerts to notify me when someone even THINKS about my book. And, this being my first book, and that clearly not being enough, I have been known to (now and then)* wander over the Goodreads, where my publisher gave away some ( Read more... )

I feel somewhat the same way. I have a piece from my master's thesis that I intend to publish. It will be my first article in a peer-reviewed journal. (Not that I've had anything in an unrefereed journal either.) I have presented this thing in a number of professional venues and received only positive feedback. Some "did you think of X" questions, but still entirely positive. My advisor gave me firm instructions a year ago to publish it before I left for Greece, yet I continue to sit on the thing ( ... )
