I'll repeat what I've said in a comment on a friend's journal:
I never saw anything offensive about Derpy Hooves. I've often used "derp" in my journal and conversations with people as "referring to a fictional character being endearingly silly/dorky or to refer to oneself having an airhead moment", and never thought I was insulting people with disabilities. (Hell, I never use the word "retarded" to describe something stupid for that very reason) Apparently, it means I'm ableist now?
I thought Derpy was slow and klutzy, but she wasn't used or sounded like she was meant to mock people with disablities. (Hell, laughing at stupid non-disabled people isn't anything new. Where are the complaints about Ed from "Ed, Edd and Eddy"? He sounds even more erm... "mentally disabled" than Derpy does) And people whining about Rainbow Dash "bullying" her? Rainbow Dash yells at everyone. It would be OOC if Dash didn't express frustration with her, as she would with Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and the rest of the Mane 6. Hell, I bet you to Betsy Pinkie
