Hmmm... after several attempts, Ashe has finally entered the office with Oliver in here. She has occupied the space of lounging in the doorway. This has worked until Oliver has decided that he wants to leave the room. Ashe lies there and hisses at him. He sits down and waits, gets up and takes another step closer. Ashe hisses again. This has been going on for ten minutes. Ollie is currently three feet from here and the doorway as Ashe lies there staring at him with much tail flicking.
...Ollie decided he was just walking passed her, despite and horrid hissing. No swats with paws were thrown. Ollie just gingerly walked passed her through the doorway and, after checking to make certain she was not going to jump him from behind, slowly walked up the steps.
They both got treats for that -- her for coming out and sticking around despite his presence and him for being so cool and calm despite her hellion act.
It's so neat to hear about this. It gives you a real perspective on their personalities and how they try and learn how to adapt. I never had two kitties at the same time, so this is fascinating...
This version of the situation is new to me. All of the previous cat adoptions into a house with a cat that I have had included cats familiar with other cats with the adoptee being a stray that was already socializing with them. This is new, but we expected Ashe to be a pain in the Ashe.
