Nice. I'm a perfectionist myself (though better than I used to be), and I know exactly how Elinora feels here. Not be pompous, but high school was a breeze for me, and then I went to a tough college and all of a sudden I had to work at things. I had to study. And didn't have a clue how to do that. I can imagine having something that your striving actually makes it more difficult - argh.

I had a similar experience when I went from undergrad to grad school -- I had to work, and couldn't just write papers the night before they were due anymore, or try to read assignments on the day of class. And you're right! You have to completely re-think the way you work.

But thank you! I'm glad you liked it. (And thanks for heading up these challenges!)

Schmendrick: The magic chose the shape, not I. I am a bearer, I am a dwelling, I am a messenger...
Molly: You are an idiot!

:) I just stole an idea and ran with it. Without all of the other contributors, my idea would be nothing.

I like how this came together. :) (And like I said before -- I so very much sympathize with Elinora here!)

Oooh, lovely. I like that Alistair is the leader here, he's so gentle. Such a good teacher!

I was a little worried that doing another templar-training type fic would render me a one-note piano, but once I got the idea in my head for this, it would not go away. :) So thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

LOVE <3

"It's all right to fail, Elinora." She shook her head, sinking a little.

"No. It isn't."

"Failure is how we learn. Learn from your mistakes, laugh at them if you can, and use them. Use them to improve." He pulled her hands away from her head and gently tilted her face up. Her nose was bleeding slowly, and her eyes were overbright with tears. "It's all right to fail."

I really, really, REALLY loved that section.
