Man I love your Alistair like a billion times more than Bioware's. And I like how I've played the Landsmeet so many times but you've still left tension and anticipation about what might happen!
Yes, all of that would totally drive Alistair to drinking. Heck, I am a teetotaller and it would drive _me_ drinking. Personally I have a soft spot for Eamon--he's a realpolitik-politician who tries to keep his heart in the process. It's hard. he played this a long, long time, and hacing screwed up the wholoe Alistair-thing by acquiescing to his wife's demands and sending him to the Chantry, now he tries to fix it by overcompensatig and making him King, thinking that's what'd be best for everyone. ::pats Eamon's head:: I really so adore nobles who take that whole being a noble thing seriously...
And yes, we totally suspect why Morrigan tries to keep Alistair alive at all costs...
It's so interesting how people divide on Eamon, some thinking he's just a conniving puppet-master while others see emotion there. I never got a read on any sort of fatherly vibe, but your idea about his actions being tied into guilt is really interesting...
