See, during my first play-through of the game,I had no idea that Alistair would end up droppin' my girl like a hot kettle. I was so upset, that I actually restarted the game, despite literally saving directly before the battle with the Arch Demon.
The dialogue between my Warden and Alistair during that final moment just ripped my heart right out. And, because of you.. people.. I worked up the courage to finish up a sketch and drabble. I had
'Angel', Sinead O'Connor and Sarah Mchlachlan carrying me through it. It's not the Sarah hit you may think it is. Anyway, onto the art and drabble.
She watched him buckle his belt, not even bothering to right the odd angle it sat at on his belly. The lines of stress were etched deep into his face; that familiar visage wrought with pain. Nothing Karighan could soothe away.
"I'm leaving for Redcliffe." To his merit, the words were even; void of emotion.
"Of course," The woman, ever pragmatic, spoke with the same neutrality, gathering the sheet to her breast--and, after a moment of hesitance, curled her arms around the man's middle, pressing a feverish cheek against his spine. He lingered in the embrace for but an instant, before striding from the room.
