Greetings Alistair-fans!
Good to find this comm over on the LJ side. I've been hanging out a bit at the Alistair and Zevran Fanclub on the DA/Bioware forums :)
It's very silly to admit for a married woman, but I haven't had this much of an obsession with a bunch of pixels since I was a giddy little schoolgirl. (Which wasn't THAT long ago, really..)
I come from a love-hate relationship with WoW, which I recently ended by pressing the Unsubscribe button. So Dragon Age being so incredibly story- and character-driven, instead of gear- and raid-driven, is such an absolute breath of fresh air! It reminded me of why RPGs are so much fun in the first place. I haven't even finished the game yet, but have read all sorts of spoilers and watched hubby play to the end.
I've been spending far too much time with Alistair in Photoshop, which is what's been keeping me from finishing the game...
Disclaimer: NOT DONE YET. But wanted to share. Before painting the armour drove me nuts and put this into the great big eternal-WIP pile.
(Damn it, why must he wear all this shiny plate armour! I dislike painting shiny metal. TOO SHINY.)
Not enirely sure if the map-background is where I want to go with this in the end. I wanted to use a world map with Ostagar in it, but the screenshot in the game as it zooms in on Ostagar, pretty much keeps it near the bottom of the frame... so I'll have to be satisfied with Ferelden written over his head, instead. It fits the idea as I wanted him to look a bit sad/pensive.
Comments/critiques would be much appreciated, since I can still change stuff before it's finished :)
