Contrition
Meredith's view of the end-game in DA II. (Spoilers, for obvious reasons)
Rating: G
Notes: Just an un-edited, Meredith-centric drabble I wrote up to de-stress from mid-terms at school. I've always wanted to try writing a version of the end-game where Hawke was like the villain. This is not completely that idea here but a variation of it.

I agree that this story was a fantastic perspective. :) We're given a not-red-lyrium explanation for Meredith's drive without being unreasonable. I still hold that even Meredith wasn't the real villain in the game--like Loghain wasn't really the villain in DAO. There's no black and white in this universe, and what they do point out to be particularly evil...usually has everything to do with Tevinter. The darkspawn are blamed on Tevinter. Kirkwall's breached Veil is blamed on Tevinter. So, crazy mages in Kirkwall? Effectively the fault of Tevinter, and Meredith just happened to be there at a very bad time. With a sword made of red lyrium. O.o

Also on Meredith being more down to earth, even with my mage character who occasionally sided with the templars, she was more down to earth compared to my mage loving warrior.
