How Old is Alistair?

Just wondering, what are your individual thoughts on his age, and why?

I mean, clearly he's young, but I was wondering if anyone had any strict guesses and reasons for them, or devised such for their fanfic, perhaps.

I imagine early to late 20's.

25 stands out to me. They always say he's 'young', but then again in the mideval ages young was 15-16, and I doubt he's that young, he's too smexy.

Plus, if he's 25 then atleast he gets to live till he's 55 :( Poor guy.

I've never quite understood why the "30 years left to live" was so bad for Wardens-- seeing as how living only into your 50s was probably very much the norm for this sort of society?

I agree with you about his age; I've always thought he was on the older side of his 20s, for some reason. :)

While the technology is medieval-oid, a world with magical healing probably has longer life expectancies.

I have been wondering about the same, and yeah, my guess is about 25 or so. He doesn't really look 18-20 to me.

Like trillian_n7, I was thinking mid-twenties. In my head he's a few years older than Elissa Cousland, but probably younger than any other party member including Leliana.

As for reasoning: He's almost done with being a novice templar, but he hasn't taken his vows yet. Meaning his training and education are just about complete, but he can't be too old or he'd be a full templar already. Also, his sense of humour comes across as young. I think if he was older he'd have been more jaded (although he can be cynical enough at times, especially concerning his parentage).

I thought that he's 19-21 because of spoilers from the Calling Novel. but I'm not sure *is still reading it* :'(

I should clarify that I mostly think this because, after reading Stolen Throne I really really can't imagine Maric raping someone, and apparently the elven woman in the Calling is supposedly the only woman who's stroked his passion since Katriel or something. *wants to read faster but wants to savor the book until the DLC is out sobs*
