Tech question, not a bug-- if that's not okay I am most heartily sorry and will delete.
Is XBox DLC locked by console or by gamertag? I though it was console, brother swears it's gamertag. If he unlocks the Emporium, am I blocked from it? If I redeem the code for Exiled Prince, will it be available on his gamertag, since it's on the box already?
I'm fairly certain it's per console. I don't have a ton of Xbox games, but the few I've had have all worked that way -- I'd unlock codes on my gamertag, and my friend could log in to hers on the same console and be able to play them as well.
Yeah, when my husband downloads DLC it unlocks for me too. Which is good, since we have that Family Gold account that considers everyone who isn't the primary account holder children.
(No, for serious, it tried to tell me I couldn't download the DA2 Demo. Evidently there was too much blood for my delicate little constitution. OR SOMETHING.)
I stayed up past midnight last despitethefactIwasworkinginthemorning *cough* just to start it up. I was just going to create a character, i swear.
I sat there as moments of precious potential sleep ticked by, and managed to activate it and start it up...and then a little window popped up 'Dragon Age II has stopped working.'
Again. And again. And again.
To make a long story short, I did the obvious fixes--updating my video card drivers, which I really should have done before release, and disabling the DirectX 11 and then it worked fine. (I'm not sure which fix did it, as I was busy throwing everything at the problem, but I'll play with the DirectX 11 tonight.)
And, yeah, I ended up getting very little sleep.
Moral of the story: always update your video drivers.
This may not be a solution to your problem but others may be having the same problem as me so I thought I'd put it under this little topic since it's the same sort of thing.
I was having problems with the game crashing and getting that same error message. Checking the forums didn't help since it wasn't the nVidia driver problem or the DirectX 11 problem. But... if you're running a quad core system, it might be the same glitch that used to crash DA:O in which case the solution is pretty simple.
Start the game (until you get to the in game menu, not just the splash screen menu), minimise it, right click on your taskbar and select the Task Manager, go to the processes tab, click on Show processes from all users and right click on the DA2 exe. Once there, go to Set Affinity and unclick the ticky boxes for CPU0 and CPU1 (ie. you want only CPU2 & CPU3 selected.) That seems to fix the crashing problem for a quad core.
So I had class all day, and have to go back to class in a few hours. But since I have a little bit of free time, I was hopeful I could squeeze in some DA2. I rushed to the store, picked up the game, beat a path to my house, installed the game, etc.
But when I went to the little Redeem page so I could register my game and actually play it?

Is anyone else getting a weird error regarding their (likely non-existent as this isn't 1994) A:? It comes up every time I launch the game (states something like "drive door not closed") and while I can click through it, it makes me have to ALT + TAB out of the game or else the game locks up.
