Any of the new Doctor Who Merlin Homeland The last few episodes of season two of Teen Wolf Any more of Revolution.
TV I have watched:
[Arrow, because what I needed was a new CW show]I watched this mainly because the early reviews of this were 'this isn't as horrible as you would think!' And it wasn't! It kept on reminding me of other works at times: Batman Begins
( Read more... )
For real, though, I was watching this with my boyfriend and roommate in the room and they were talking over it and I didn't want to be like QUIET WHEN CASTIEL IS ON THE SCREEN YOU HEATHENS but I was really tempted.
And agreed that I thought the flashbacks were worked in so much more smoothly this time around. I turned to eltea about halfway through and was just like, "The pacing is soooooo muchhhhh betterrrrrrr than last episode." XD
I love the way SPN's protagonists slaughter extras right and left and then freak out when it's someone who's important to the plot. Related: Touché, Crowley. XDDD
I would like another Avengers crossover next week, plz, SPN. XD
So far, better than Revolution! ROFL RIGHT? The last thing I need is to get sucked into another CW show but other than the clunky voiceovers, it wasn't bad at all!
Supernatural was oddly decent. Like, I'm not so sure about that whole plot, but MAMA TRAN and SAM/MJOLNIR FOREVER and all the sassy dialogue and I am loooooooving how they're doing the Purgatory flashbacks, surprisingly.
Arrow is definitely worth checking out, if not amazing. There was a lot of clunky voiceover work, but they seem to have a solid base to work with.
With revolution: I keep on telling myself I'll have time to watch it later, but it's becoming clear that I'm not quite sure when later is. Also, it word on the street (or at least on twitter) is that it's not really improving. Maybe I'll wait a few more episodes and then see if it gets cancelled...
I've also missed the first few episodes of Downton Abbey, which sounds like it might have improved this season?
DOWNTON! I don't have BBC America, and while I still rank it among the shows I most want to see, after last season the urgency is gone to bt it. So I'll wait until it either comes to iTunes or PBS.
I am totally ready and willing to fall in love with a new show -- if anything I crave a new obsession, but so far the returning shows are more like comfort food but not must haves, and the new shows look just like the old shows! Revolution is the perfect example -- it feels cooked in a lab. I just haven't seen anything fresh and compelling yet.
Yeah, I get that. I've been listening to the Nerdist Writer's panels a lot lately, and one of the things they mentioned was that the networks bought a lot fewer pilots this year than they had in previous years, and I wonder if we're seeing the fallout from that: lots of mediocre shows, not that many breakouts.
Or maybe the focus is on half hour sitcoms, which I don't really watch, instead of hour dramas.
I've heard reports that Andre Braugher on a submarine is more exciting than the posters (that feature neither Andre Braugher nor a submarine) would have you think. Maybe I'll check that one out a little later.

Crowley is so totally right about them just going through people left and right.

I am totally hoping that Sam keeps Mjolnir and Dean fanboys over it but can't really get it to work and that becomes a plot point later.
HAMMER OF THE GODS FOR REAL.
And yeah, I was really worried about the flash forward a year (again!), but it seems to be working much better this time around.

I never watched the second ep of Revolution either. My DVR backlog is insane.
