I have to say that I was not as impressed with that song as much as everyone else was. (This is coming from someone who believes the Blue Album is one of the greatest albums of her time.) After hearing the Green Album and Make Believe, I was totally turned off by Weezer. (I also saw them on their Green album tour, shelled out something like $60 for it, and they played for a total of one hour. People said that Maladroit was Weezer "going back to their roots", but I didn't really feel it (especially with Dope Nose, ugh).

I must say that video was extraordinarily amusing and full of I spend too much time on the internet references and I think it made me like the song more. I give props to what the song is about too.

Pinkerton is my favorite Weezer album. The Green Album was decent but I kinda had a falling out after that.

Honestly, I pretty much skipped over Maladroit (I'm still not familiar with any of the singles from that album) and I've listened to Make Believe in passing. Although I know "Peace", "Perfect Situation" and "Beverly Hills" inside-and-out because my old cover band played those songs.

The sounds and melodies from "Pork and Beans" remind me of "No One Else" and "Buddy Holly", with the opening riff reminding me of "El Scorcho". Then again, if you know anyone who's done karaoke with me, they'll tell you about my "Undone" and "Beverly Hills" mash-up hahaha ^_^

Would you be interested in catching their tour if they came to Chicago?

I'm definitely getting more used to Pork adn Beans. I had it stuck in my head the other day, so that tells me I like it? The opening riff definitely reminded me of El Scorcho.

I would definitely see them in Chicago if you went!
