I wish I knew how to make drugs out of poppies.  Then we could have a conversation like this:

"Do you have any idea what happened to my poppies?"

You get the seed pods and dry them out. Then remove the stem, pour the seeds out, break the pod open. Remove the ribs inside the pod. Crush 4-5 pods up and dump them in a beaker. Add boiling water and leave it until the material sinks to the bottom. Pour this through a coffee filter into a glass.

Drink the tea and you will get pretty fuckin high. It's like shooting up, except the onset is a little slow, there is no rush.
