I didn't know the Green Line was still running. I bet it was mibbed. Out here in our neck of Queens, all the private lines walked off. The LIRR and our feet are our only friends if you don't own a car. There are also commuter vans picking people up but they are, of course gouging prices.

I'm sorry you didn't get your tea the way you wanted it. From what you describe of your day, you definitely deserved it. Hope tomorrow treats you better.

I was so lucky that the Green Line was running--it's the only bus the MTA hasn't taken over yet! Otherwise I was facing getting to the LIRR in Woodside, and then waiting on the four hour line there only to have to fight my way through Penn Station. I can only imagine what it would have been like to be in a part of Queens where carpooling and those vans were the only option. I met someone in my morning cab yesterday who'd paid $35 just to get into the city. I paid about $30 for the cabs I took collectively, including tips.

I picked up milk on my way home last night, so I managed to finally get my comforting cup of tea. Ugh. I'm glad this whole shebang is over now, and my poor knees will go back to normal!
