I am in a carpool at work with my friend Elizabeth and this other guy who we call crazy Mike, because he's really ADD/volatile/no filter/kind of socially retarded/can't get him to stop ranting once you get him started on just about any subject. But he's really a sweet guy underneath it all, you know? So he borrows a car

He's obviously irrational. How polite do you have to be?? Just tell him it's not working out. No need to explain to him why he's a wanker.
The only disappointment is that we don't get to hear amusing stories of what a dick he is. I always love hearing about how other people are annoying. I like talking about how other people are annoying too.
