Babies, Obsessions, & Other Goodness

Last weekend I celebrated my birthday, but it was also my sisters surprise baby shower. Or at least it was supposed to be a surprise. Surprising Rachel is never easy. She will do everything in her power to get to the bottom of a secret. Despite the party losing its surprise factor, it was a great event. She made out like a bandit in the gift ( Read more... )

Wow, so many presents! Crazy how it took three hours to open them all...

And AWWW, that pic of your sis *is* adorable! Can't go wrong with a ribbon hat. ;)

This post is just another reminder of how CRAZY I am for not reading the TMI series yet...heh. *bad me*

Also, SQUEE about all your happy pieces of news! You may not think two pounds is a lot, but you've got to start somewhere, right? Plus, the fact that you lost those two pounds during your birthday week makes it even more amazing! And finally, a raise! It would've been awesome if it was bigger, but hey, at least it's something!

This is me, squeeing with you about all the Happy:

You're right, you can't go wrong with the ribbon hat and of course she didn't WANT to wear one... *Difficult Pregnant women are difficult* That's the dress I got her for her birthday though, she looked so darn cute in it!

Yes, you are CRAZY for not reading the TMI series yet... just finished CITY OF GLASS today and OMG perfect. I couldn't put it down. You know a books good when you get to that point where there's no stopping yourself from finishing. You'll know one day though... I'm positive it will finally make that TBR pile eventually ( ... )

Aww, that's the dress you got her? Definitely cute!

My sis is the exact opposite of yours. She doesn't have to be coerced into wearing ribbon hats; she always puts one on out of her own volition! XD

Wow...
Major Congratulations for all these great news. :)
2 pounds is A START, and I'm glad you're sticking with WW for now. (keep us posted). I lost 4 pounds in a month since I started my "diet" in march. It's not much, but it's a step to celebrate.
About babies though, just wait until you become an auntie... :D
Have a great week-end.

Thank you!!

I have to say, since you're interested in the whole WW thing probably more than most, that even though it's only been 3 weeks since I started meetings and 3 lbs into it, that I'm getting more comfortable with the idea of going to meetings.

There's a bit of accountability I feel to actually have lost something by the time weight in rolls around each week and maybe that's pushing me to track more and eat better. Plus, I'm not sure how much you know of the past and present ways that the WW diet works, but this newer version is so much easier to live by. Basically all fruits and vegetables in their natural state are free game. So instead of snacking on things like 100 calorie packs which rack up 2-4pts each you could have an apple which costs you nothing (or some other zero pt snack that's equally if not more filling). This makes meal time a lot easier when it rolls around in the overall daily point value.

I may be jumping the gun, but I think WW will be a good thing for me. I feel more determined than I ever have before ( ... )
